Wizards Throwback Night Logo Loop

A vintage-inspired Wizards logo loop built around a their old school logos and branding.

Concept & Design

Playful motion paired with classic Wizards throwback colors to create a logo loop that feels both retro and fresh. Textures, lighting, and timing were developed specifically for LED boards.

Process

The project spanned 2–3 weeks. Initial style directions were designed in Illustrator, then narrowed down through multiple iterations to three refined boards. These motifs were distilled into a cohesive system and carried into After Effects, where an 8-second looping sequence was animated using match cuts, mattes, and smooth transitions.

Challenges & Solutions

A key challenge was determining which visual directions to advance. The solution came by focusing on only the strongest motifs and repeating them consistently, creating both variety and brand clarity.

Outcome

The final deliverable is an exciting logo loop designed for the Capital One Arena’s main board.
